- But Final Cut Pro deserves the price. It enables you to control the video production from start to end. FCP delivers advanced color grading, HDR support, ProRes RAW, VR headset playback and full-featured closed captions. iMovie makes it easy to begin making movies. iMovie Alternative 5: Adobe Premiere Pro for Mac - PROFESSIONAL Video Editor
- Adobe Premiere Pro is similar to Final Cut Pro. They are the main competitors in the post-production field. I recommend Final Cut Pro first because a) the effortless switch from iMovie to FCP, and FCP also work seamlessly with other Apple production like Motion and Compresso. b) FCP has built in a full set of sound effects, caption tools and effect editing tools.
- But Adobe Premiere Pro is also widely used in post production, especially for making film and TV. It provides you with almost all editing tools for color, audio, and graphics. The integrated workflows let you polish your work even without leaving your timeline. Adobe is a leading company in the media creation field. PRE is fully integrated with other Adobe apps and services, so you can craft footage into polished films and videos in one seamless workflow. Dislike FCP's one-time payment and life-time upgrade, Adobe Premiere Pro requires you a subscription plan for $20.99 per month. Adobe also provides different subscription plans on their official website.

iMovie for Mac Tips
by Jenefey AaronUpdated on 2019-07-25 / Update for Windows Care
Back when Mac vs. PC war was still going strong, Apple positioned its products as fun, easy, and made for the creatives. This was the time when iMovie was released along with several other creative-centric desktop apps. The product supposed to be an entry-level movie production software that is easy to use, but yet it's powerful enough to give the more professional software a run for their money.
If you've tried iMovie, you'll agree that it's hard to find a worthy competitor. But why would you do that? The app is available for Mac users for FREE. Unfortunately, iMovie is not available on other platforms other than Mac.
So, what should a Windows user do? While you won't find an exact iMovie replica available with both the features and the price range, there are several video editor alternatives for Windows that you can try.
Movavi Video Editor
Compatible with Windows 10, 8/7/Vista/XP
Similar to iMovie, Movavi is a multimedia creation center. It lets you import virtually any media, arrange them on a timeline, synchronize the video with the audio, and share your masterpiece anywhere. But don't expect to find the similar user interface to the one in iMovie. And if you're coming from iMovie, you'll need some getting used to the workflow.
Windows 10 Movie Maker
Also available for Windows 7/8/Server2008 R2
Windows Movie Maker is Microsoft's rather unsuccessful attempts to create an equal rival to Apple's iMovie. While the app gains quite a number of users, it's only because it comes free with Windows. Movie Maker does it jobs well for basic video editing, but you won't find anybody considers it as extraordinary.
If your Windows doesn't come with Movie Maker, you might need to install Windows Essentials. Please also note that Movie Maker and Photo Gallery must be installed together as the two share many features.
Wondershare Filmora
Compatible with Windows 10/8/7/Vista/XP
This one is for those who want easy but powerful video editing software. You'll get step by step guide to walk you through completing your movie project. Each step comes with video editing options, including tons of filter effects, to enhance the result.
Wondershare Filmora is also available for Mac and offers plenty of ways to share your videos. One drawback to this otherwise a great software is its stability. At the time of writing, the app still crashes sometimes. Hopefully, the developer will fix the problem in the following updates.
NCH VideoPad
Compatible with Windows 10/8/7/Vista/XP
Since the very beginning, iMovie is aimed at beginner home video makers. On the other end of the spectrum, there's Sony Vegas for the pros. The two shouldn't be compared because they are different. But if you are on the market for video editor similar to Sony Vegas, Video Pad might just fit the bill.
It's a fully-featured movie maker similar to iMovie that will help users create great videos without the hassle. Video Pad has features and interfaces similar to Sony Vegas.
Lightworks Free
Apps Like Imovie For Mac Free Version
Available for Windows, Mac, and Linux
On the realm of professional video editing software, there's also Lightworks. It's a multi-platform editor that can hold its ground against other giants like Sony Vegas. Those who want Mac-style operations and interfaces would feel at home with Lightworks.
Imovie App For Mac
The Pro version of Lightwork is not a viable iMovie alternative because of the price. However, there's the free version that should be worth your time.
Don't Lose Your Precious Works
You can use any of the alternatives above to compile and edit your home movies, but you won't find anything that's exactly like iMovie. And there are more choices available that cannot be mentioned in this short list.
Imovie 10 Download For Mac
But no video editor app can help you create your next blockbuster if you lose the raw materials. Aside from the digital camera, home video makers use their iPhone or smartphone cameras to record videos. If you lose the videos on your iPhone, you could restore them using Tenorshare iPhone Data Recovery. This app will help you to restore your iPhone data either from iCloud, iTunes backup or from the iPhone itself.
